Only Heart

So right now at this very moment, I just finished redoing Only Heart, probably my most popular original song to date. I really think it needs more though, in terms of music. It's very empty sounding, being that it only has piano, strings, newly added brief oboe, and vocals. I think I'm aching to hear it get some percussion and just generally everything else a good song usually has. But if you wanna take a listen, I've just posted the song on my Myspace page here.

韓国語で歌います

I recently finished recording a cover of a Korean song called "Never Ending Story", but it' not the same song as the English one with the same title, it just coincidentally has the same name. It's by a Korean rock band,부활 (bu hwal). I remade the music myself so that's why you don't hear guitar in it. I can play some guitar, but not as good as the guy in the original version so I decided to just play his riff with a piano instead. If you wanna see a video of me performing this, go here

Mad World

I completed another cover this morning. The song is "Mad World" in the style of Gary Jules. I've been going really slowly with music production, so I must pick up the pace right now. I'm gonna start working on another cover today and keep the ball rolling nonstop from here on out. I also gotta drop a few elbees to take pics for album art. So much to do, and so much time already wasted...

I was messing around with the camera on my DSi and took this pic of myself that I thought looked cool.

すみません

Sorry, if there's anybody out there who reads this blog, I'm sorry for not posting in so long. If I didn't post today, I would have gone all of the month of May without a single post.

As for general updates, I've been out of school for most of the month of May, but haven't gotten nearly as much music done as I should have been. It seems that because I have all this free time, other tasks are appearing and taking all my time. I've been spring cleaning, remodeling, went to another wedding, this and that. So for this whole month, I've only managed to remake All the Music. Although it's not 100% done, I say it like it's done because I'm about 98%. Just gotta put some final touches on it.

Also, I got one of my songs on iTunes about a week or so ago. It's the song Never the Same, for sale as a single for 99 cents. I was hoping I could make a whole album this summer and either send it to a record company or put it on iTunes and promote it myself. So if I can get on the ball with everything then I should still be able to get it done.

Here's a picture of the remodeling I've been doing this summer, I painted this picture on my roommate's wall.

Fall

The title is not Fall because it's the season, it's actually spring right now. The title is Fall because that's the name of the song I'm about to finish remaking. I got all the music done for it yesterday and today I'll probably get a the vocals done provided I find the time. ( I still have tons of homework to do...)
I took a pic a few days ago while riding the bus. It's a pic of an apparent accident, probably by someone who was either drunk, tired, or just angry at this housing edition and crashed into the entrance sign. It's right down the street from where I live. I'm impressed my camera was able to take this pic because I was on a bus moving at least 40 mph. Usually I just turn it on and shoot, but I realized a little while back how important it is to use the special features. Usually things turn out blurry from the slightest bit of movement, but there are settings I can use to compensate for it. For this pic I used a function that is intended for moving objects. Worked out really nicely. :)

Progess

I'm making some progress as of the past few weeks. I've been a little more prolific with my music, and I've done a little better with promotion, and I've gotten some more responses from people who like my work. I've started doing several collaborations all at once, when I had never really done anything at all before.

I really just want to dive right into my music and start making money from it so I can really have a reason to pursue only music. I'm swamped with school at the same time though, so keeping up the music related business is hard to focus on at the same time as maintaining good grades and such at Purdue. But it just so happens that unless I receive a lot of free money from somewhere, I just might be dropping out of college because I can't afford it any longer. But you never know, I wasn't sure if I'd still be in school this semester and here I am.

But as for music, I remade Never the Same over spring break and I hope to remake many others soon too. I also have lots of new songs that are waiting to be completed. I can't wait until I've got enough time to complete all this, it's gonna be grand.

My computer's being a douche bag though, it randomly decided that I wasn't allowed to use my Asian type anymore, just got rid of my language bar. And no matter how many times I restart my computer or reinstall the language packs, it just won't work. I'm currently set to an old 98 windows theme so it's possible that has something to do with it, but if I change it and it still doesn't work, I'll reformat. That's the key to all of life's problems. Just start over. Dust yourself off and try again.

If you're a fan of Utada Hikaru like I am, then you're probably as excited as I am about her finally making some progress in the states. If you don't know who she is, basically she grew up half in NewYork, half Tokyo, and has perfect English and Japanese, and became a famous singer is Japan at 15 yrs old, her first album selling more than any other album in Japanese history. But she's always been super famous in Japan, but not America even though she was born here. But anyway, she's releasing an English album that will be in stores May 12 and is already on iTunes. I like to support her, but I can't really afford to buy the iTunes album when I know I'll be buying the physical copy in stores. I'm a starving college artist.

I took a pic today on the city bus, somebody had stuck a bandaid on the seat next to where I was sitting. I though it was such a stereotypical public bus thing to see I had to take a pic.

Ummmm

It's obvious that nobody's reading this up to this point because there isn't really anything here to attract people. But I'll keep it going just for the sake of having it, if someday it does become handy to have.

I just finished "Like Everybody Else" officially. I didn't do much to it today, but I did enough to call it finished. There are problems with it because I used my Snowball mic which really isn't as great as it was supposed to be when I bought it. It can't pick up my voice very well, it was designed for much louder sources or something. I found a patch for the driver online that makes it take in more audio, but that still didn't help much. I also don't have a compressor to plug it into so basically that's just a recipe for amateur sounding vocals. And I tried my best but what else can ya do?

The song can be listened to here

Hiya

So I'm gonna use this entry to set up the foundation.

I have used Flash in the past, in 2006 is when I first used it and I wanted to get really good at it to make games and stuff, but I never had the time for it. I did however manage to complete a few things here and there. My most famous on the web creation was one I completed in August 2006, it was a Japanese learning program, but somewhat basic Japanese though. If I made another one now, it would be far better as I have actually completed almost four semesters of Japanese, and at the time that I made the flash program I had never taken any Japanese before.
Here's how the program turned out after about 15 hours of work in a span of a few weeks.
Click here for the Japanese flash

You can find other flash creations by me
HERE.

Yesterday I was working on some Japanese homework with a black gel pen and I had the sudden urge to do something I hadn't done since high school.

Yep, I drew on my hand. lol

I washed it off right away because I didn't want the toxins in the ink to seep into my body and cause me a headache or something worse.

As for music, I got something new completed recently. I just started this new song a week ago and I got it finished this weekend. I haven't recorded in the lyrics though because I don't have the proper environment for it at home right now, so hopefully I'll get it done sometime soon. The title of the song is "Like Everybody Else" and it's about the underdog, the outcast, the victim of society. It's got a really heavy beat, and sounds harder than most of what I've been making up to this point, mainly because I used my pc as part of the creation process for the first time in any of my previously completed songs.

If you want to hear what my previous music sounds like, go
HERE(newgrounds) or HERE(myspace)

I'm starting to learn html as of recent so I used a little bit of my own knowledge to set up the links and pics here, and hopefully I'll be using it to make much better advancements to this blog in the future.

はじめて

皆さん、始めまして!

I'm starting this blog as a place to centralize all my various creations. Up till now, I've had flash and music on Newgrounds, select music on Myspace, and random art on places like DeviantArt. But I'm going to post all updates here so that if you are generally interested in the various things I do, you can check only this one page for updates and add it to your rss feed. I don't have anything to post at this moment except that I started working on a new song this past weekend that will most likely be called "Like Everybody Else". It sounds different than what I've made in the past because the technology is new to my arsenol and I'm very pleased with the advanced sounds I now have access to. The song was born without intending to be, I was just looking to make a quick sound with some free time. That's usually how it happens anyway, I write the music and the lyrics write themselves.
